Work code composition varies across customers. Some fields in the work code configuration window may not apply to every business process.
The standard work code configuration utilizes only a small portion of the fields. Business rules, payroll requirements, desired roster behavior, security controls, and accruals are all contributing factors in determining work code configuration.
Use the following areas within a work code to do the following:
General- sets base work code field parameters.
Flexible Time Editing- sets strategies to suppress shift assignments or vacancies or both.
Advanced (Check for...)- tags system derived rules to further determine work code behavior on the Roster and Calendar.
Authority- limits access to that work code.
Logging - allocates that work code to a logging behavior.
Issues - assigns dynamic issue type rules to that work code.
Cover - attaches a cover person to that work code when processing a shift trade.
Accrual - creates accrual balances such as, vacation earned, comp time earned, sick earned, and so on.
