Convert Work Code to a Request if Denied

Use the Convert to a Request if Denied check box within a dynamic issue to convert a work code to a request when a user adds or edits the work code associated with the dynamic issue. Only two severity levels apply when using this check box, Add and Edit.

To convert a work code to a request when the user either adds the code or the user fails the test condition criteria:

  1. Go to: Setup > Codes > Dynamic Issues.
  2. Click Add to create a new Dynamic Issue.
  3. In Name, assign the Dynamic Issue a generic or business-rule derived name. For example, “Requires Supervisor Approval”.
  4. In Type, select Condition.
  5. Select the check box Convert to a Request if Denied.
  6. In Severity when..., only the Add and Edit fields apply when using the Convert to a Request if Denied check box. Select the desired severity level; for example, Deny level one.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Clone the dynamic issue you saved in the previous step to control which user can bypass this issue to approve the work code.
  9. Label the issue; for example, “Supervisor review any issues before approving”.
  10. Clear the check box Convert to a Request if Denied.
  11. In Severity when... configure the Approve, Remove, and Auction fields with the desired severity level. To continue with this example, in Approve select Deny level one.
  12. Click Save.

Go to the applicable work code(s) and assign the two dynamic issues in the Issues panel.
