The Assignment tab identifies when and where the user can work. This area contains the user’s shift and location of work.
The application schedules personnel and builds the Roster using the active assignment for the given date. Multiple assignments can exist with no overlapping shifts or no overlapping From and Through dates.
Security Permission settings in Setup control the ability to edit or create new assignments or both.
Customers using Dimensions, the Assignment tab is not populated with the integration and assignment information must be manually added. This can be done directly in the Assignment tab or through the Assignment Template window. However, this information must complement Dimensions Jobs and Business Structure. Ensure an employee's assignment in this application complements their Dimensions Primary Job or is addressed in their Adjustment Rules.
For example, Donald's Primary Job says he is in a Part Time position, and his adjustment rules have a rule for working as a Cashier. When this application translates the information for Donald his job is Part Time, but his manually created Assignment is a Cashier position.
