Work codes are used to manage time, staff personnel,
and solve payroll needs. A work code defines your work status.
The behavior of each work code is highly configurable and dynamic.
For this reason, you may find that some work codes require approval,
and others do not. Sometimes a work code is automatically approved,
and sometimes that same work code requires approval. This is because
Dynamic Issues and Static Issue are linked to work codes, and affect
work code behavior upon entry.
Dynamic and Static issues are used to prevent codes from being
entered into the application when a work code fails a system defined
business rule (Dynamic) or system rule (Static).
IMPORTANT |
- Each work code is configured to meet
scheduling requirements. Not all fields enable, or require data
entry. The system will prompt you when data is required.
- When a work code request is in violation of any business rule,
a Dynamic issue, or Static issue will either prevent you from entering
the work code, or the application will convert the work code into
a Request, or allow you to override that issue. Whether a user can
override an issue depends on their application permissions.
- An asterisk icon displays next to a work code request. An employee
requesting time-off displays both the regular duty work code, and
the work code request. The regular duty work code withdraws from
the Roster when the work code request has been approved.
