Configure Preference Locks

Review Preference documentation prior to starting this task. Rules and job allocation passes use Preferences in Preference Profiles to find matching jobs.

This task requires:

  • Authority permissions Setup: Preferences, and Setup: Preference Locks
  • Preferences must be configured before you can create and apply a preference lock.

To configure or edit a preference lock:

  1. Go to Setup > Preferences > Preference Locks.
  2. Click Add
  3. Set the following fields as desired:
    • Lock: Controls whether or not the preference for the selected organizational level is locked. Select to set the lock. Clear the check box to unlock the preference.

    • Organization*: Select the organization level to apply the lock for the corresponding preference. If locked then all users with an assignment set at this level of the organization will have their preferences locked. If Institution Focus is turned ON, the application assumes the focused institution, but if <none> is set the application requires an institution to be selected.

    • Preference*: Select the Preference to set the lock. If locked then the selected preference cannot be modified and displays a lock icon in person > Preference tab. If the Lock check box is cleared, then this preference is not locked and the user can modify the preference.

  4. Click Save.
