About Vacancy Strategy

The Vacancy Strategy area contains conditions to control how and when a vacancy is filled.

Every position contains a vacancy strategy to instruct the Roster how to behave when that position is vacated. There is no limit to the number of vacancy strategies that can be created. While multiple vacancy strategies can be defined - only one vacancy strategy can be attached to a position.

Typical configurations include:

• Suppressing positions on the Roster when at or above minimum staffing level requirements.
• Creating vacancies when the Roster falls below minimum staffing levels.
• Defining complex vacancy filling strategies when positions with varying job titles are simultaneously open.
• Defining fill priorities when positions with specialty requirements are open.
• Defining critical time periods and shift splits.
