Count Field Descriptions

Field Name Roster Count ‘Target’ Field Description
Name Label. Define usage and be concise. This will be visible on the Roster.
Execution Context Determines when and where the Roster Count is available. This option exists to improve performance since not all Roster Counts have to run at all times.
  • Roster: select to use this Count in Roster behavior
  • Rules: select to use this Count in Rule behavior.
  • Work Code: select to use this Count in Work Code behavior.
Day(s) of Week Used to activate this roster Count on the days selected. This is a pre-filter control that avoids the use of costly and unnecessary Condition tests.
Condition Enter a Dynamic Argument in this field and in proper format to determine which group to target.
Example: STATION=8means target personnel in Station 8.
From Enter a value to build custom alarms based on time frames. Typically used to target critical time periods when shifts overlap. Often these departments need an alarm to come up if they drop below a certain level of staffing during peak hours.
For (Minutes) This field is used with the From field. Enter a time in minutes.
Pre-filter Before counting, use a pre-filter to reduce the number of candidates by targeting certain groups only. Choices are: <none>, Agency, Region, Departure Location, Group, List Event, Location, Position, Rank, Roster Count Strategy, Shift, Specialty, Station, Unit, Unit Type, Vacancy Strategy, Work Code, and Work Code Type.
Pre-Filter Selection Displays the items within the selected Pre-filter. Select one or more items to include that item in the Count.
Must have all selections above If checked, then ALL the items selected in the table above must be TRUE; otherwise, only one item selected must be TRUE
Selections target person information If checked, the application targets the person’s information not the Roster or Organizational levels.
Example: Suppose the Target=Station 8, if checked the person must have a regular assignment at station 8 to be counted. This would exclude people working in Station 8 that do not have a regular assignment at Station 8. If unchecked, then any person working in Station 8 are counted.

Field Name Roster Count ‘Alarm’ Field Description
Under Initiates an alarm on the Roster if the item or items counted are under the amount defined in this field.
Or Over Initiates an alarm if the item or items counted are over the amount defined in this field.
Assume Percentage (ex. Under 0.9=90%) If checked, the Under or Overvalues should be less than one and represent a percentage. For example, suppose the Target=Captain and Under=0.9, then this alarm initiates if less than 90% of the total captains are on duty (if {count} divided by {target} is less than 0.9 then the alarm initiates).
Level Defines where the items counted should be totaled. Choices are: Roster, Institution, Agency, Region, Shift, Station, Unit, Position.
