Roster View Display TAB Field Descriptions

General Options - addresses the presentation of the Roster.
Column Options - controls which columns display on the Roster.
Color Options - applies color to positions or people to quickly identify information.
Organization Options - controls how your Organization displays on the Roster

General Panel Options

Field Name Roster View Display TAB ‘General’ Field Description
Name Label. Keep concise. This will be visible on the Roster.
Focus Banding If selected, a line displays above and below the Units on the Roster.
Available to All Users Select to share this view with others. If unchecked, this view saves to the creator’s user account and available to that user -only.
Focus Bolding Bold by default. Select to display the following in Bold font on the Roster: Shifts, Agency, Regions, Stations, Units, Unassigned, OR Off Roster
Abbreviations Select to abbreviate all the information on the Roster, except People's names.
Unauthorized in Gray Use to visually distinguish the areas on the Roster people can affect. Select to gray out areas on the Roster that the logged in user has no Authority over.
Always Show Times Select to display the shift start and end times to the right of every position on the Roster. By default, shift times display next to the position when they differ from the main shift. Vacancies always show shift start and end times.
Automatic Refresh Select to automatically refresh the Roster after every transaction. Recommended setting.
Build on Open Select to build the Roster on initial display. Otherwise, users may need to refresh the Roster screen to display this view. Recommended setting.
Lines Controls the brightness of the Roster lines (grid pattern). Choices are: Hide, Light (default), Medium, Dark
Preferred If a Preferred Region or Station is set in the user’s Profile, select how to display these preferences. Choices are: Hide (default), Show Region, Show Station.
Nearest Date Use to set the Roster day to an alternative date when a specific date is chosen. Requires a Dynamic Date in proper format and Setup: Roster authority to modify this field.
Days Included Used to build and present several consecutive days on the Roster. The numeric value indicates that N consecutive days follow the selected date. Requires Setup: Roster authority to modify this field.

-> Month Check this box without a Nearest Date to display the target month on the Roster. If a Nearest Date is supplied the target month displays from the nearest date through the end of the month. Requires Setup: Roster authority to modify this field.

Save Click to confirm your settings.
Cancel Click to close the window without saving changes.
Remove Activates on any view that is not shared. To activate the Remove button on a shared view clear the check box: Available to all users >Save.

Column Panel Options

Field Name Roster View Display TAB ‘Column’ Field Description
Lead w/ Places column information on the far-left of the Roster. Choices are:
  • Hide - omits the lead column

  • Position Rank/Override - displays the rank of the Position or the Position’s Overriding Name.

  • Assignment Description - displays the position’s numeric ordinal on the roster. Used to quickly identify Assignment positions on the Roster when multiple positions, of the same rank are defined in a unit.

  • Working Rank - displays the rank of the person working the position.

  • Employee ID - displays the Employee ID.

  • Payroll ID - displays the Payroll ID.

  • Formula ID: Person - displays the Person’s Formula ID.

  • Formula ID: Position - displays the Position’s Formula ID.

Alarms Select to display Roster Count Alarms. Default selection.
Outstanding Outbound(s) Select to display the status of an Outbound task by the position. Default selection.
Vacancy Fill Order Select to displays the Fill Order of a vacancy. The lower the Fill Priority number, the higher the staffing priority for that vacant position. Default selection.
Qualified Pass or Fail Select to display a yellow triangle with an exclamation point by a person's name on the Roster when the person fails to meet the positions’ qualification criteria. Also available in Fill by Person. Qualified Fail verifies job title, specialties, skills, and certifications.1 Default selection.

Job title and specialty validation are based on the requirements of the position relative to the person’s qualifications for the target date. See About Qualified Pass or Fail (Yellow Triangle)... topic for more information.

Work Code Color Select to display work code colors. Default selection.
Shift Times Select to display the start and end times to the far right of the main shift. Default selection.
Finalized Detail Select to display the date and time stamp the Roster was finalized next to every shift that was finalized. Default selection.
Attachment Icon Select to display a paper clip icon next to the area affected by the attachment. Default selection. Requires Attachment: View authority to see attachment content.. Additionally, used to quickly add attachments on the Roster, and available as of application version 6.7.
Attachment List Select to display a list next to the column with the check marks. The list is a cumulative list for an organizational level and all organizational levels above it. List contents include:
  • Static Attachment Abbreviations
  • Dynamic Attachments
Default is not selected. Requires Attachment: View authority to see attachment content.
Timeline Select to display a linear histogram. A visual aid to see where work codes fall within the shift scope (without having to read each work code’s from and through values).
Checked-In Select to display a profile with a question mark icon when a check-in record does not exist for the target person on the target date. If selected, also select Not Checked-in AND Check-in Information located under the Content tab.
Group Icons Select to show Group Icons assigned to a Position in the organizational structure in Setup. Group Icons are configured in Setup > General > Groups.
ID Places column information on the far-right of the Roster. Choices are:
  • Hide - omits IDs
  • Employee ID- displays the Employee ID (Default).
  • Payroll ID - displays the Payroll ID.
  • Formula ID: Person - displays the Person’s Formula ID.
  • Formula ID: Position - displays the Position’s Formula ID

Color Panel Options

Person Applies the selected color to the Person if they have the selected attribute. Choices are: Rank, Specialty, Group, Can Act As Rank
Position Applies the selected color to the Person if they have the selected attribute. Choices are: Rank, Specialty, Group, Can Act As Rank
Color Pane Select a color for the selected item. Items defined in this pane display in order of importance. The higher color takes precedence to eliminate contradicting color elements on the Roster.
Background Select to apply the selected color to the background.
Foreground Select to apply the selected color to the font.

Color printing option is supported as of application v6.4.2.

Color Features Included:
  • People or Position background and foreground colors as defined in Roster Views
  • Includes all Roster icons
Color Feature Not Included:
  • Selected row orange color
  • Alarm row pink color; prints the alarm bell icon
  • Collapsed gray color
  • Does not include headcounts
  • Disabled unit color

Organization Panel Options

Roster Visibility Controls Options:
  • Hide - omits the selected item
  • Show- displays the selected item. Default selection.
  • Show Collapsed - displays the selected item with items contained within collapsed.
  • Show Inline - displays the selected item to the right of, and on the same row as the preceding organizational level.
  • Show Inline - Collapsed - displays the selected item to the right of, and on the same row as the preceding organizational level and items contained within are collapsed.
<roster> Displays the Roster’s target date.
Organizational Levels Roster levels include: Institution, Agency, Region, Station, Unit, Position. Use the visibility controls to design your custom Roster view.
Shift Displays the shift name.
