An Attachment Category is required for and used to classify Attachment Groups.
Common attachment categories configured are Notes and Inventory. Notes are the most frequently used category.
Additional attachment categories can be created. The only setup required for an Attachment Category is the Name.
The default setup contains two categories, Miscellaneous and Notes. The Miscellaneous Group contains static attachments and typically used to assign, track, or capture inventory items. The Notes Group, contains dynamic attachments that can be created on -the-fly for people, positions, and organizational levels. The default categories can be renamed.
