Field Name | Attachment Group Field Description |
---|---|
Name | Long name. |
Abbreviation | Short name. |
Category | Displays all Attachment Categories. Select the appropriate Attachment Category for this Group. By default, Inventory and Notes are available. |
Attachee | Displays the organizational levels that can be assigned an Attachment Group. There can only be one Attachee per Attachment Group. |
Defined in Setup: | Select to enable the Attachment column in Setup
Attachment Category > Attachment Group > Attachments. Attachments
are pre-configured items you can apply to the person, such as a
standard note, code, device, equipment. A Defined in Setup Attachment
Group is Static. If the check box is not checked, then the Attachment Group
is said to be Dynamic.
|
Shared: | When selected, the Attachment Group and all Attachments in that group can be used simultaneously on multiple people; however, people sharing the same attachment must be of the same organizational level. This setting allows for attachments to be assigned to more than one person at a time. Applicable and enforced when the Attachment Group is not Shared via the classic attachment view. The inline attachment user interface overrides Shared this checkbox, and always shared via inline. |
Temporary | When selected, Attachments are assigned to this Attachment Group for a specified period defined by From & Through dates. Available using the classic attachment view. Date range parameters are not applicable when using inline attachments, inline attachments offer a quick way to apply attachment and you can apply this type of attachment via inline attachments for the day and any additional day. |
Display in grid | When selected, displays an icon that looks like a paper clip in the Attachments column in the People screen and the Roster. If the Attachment Group is Temporary, then the effective date in the People or Roster must fall between the From and Through dates defined for the Attachment to be visible. |
Display with name: | When selected, static attachments in this Group
display inside curly braces next to the person’s name in the People
screen, Locate Person, Calendar, and the Roster regardless of whether
or not the user has authority permission View: Attachments granted.
Example: David Nguyen {T457}
Note:
The Display Abbreviation check box option controls whether to show the long or the short name of the Static Attachment. Default is Long Name. This feature is available as of application version 6.7. In Setup > Attachment Group, select Defined in Setup > select or create an Attachment > in Attachment panel, see Display Abbreviation check box. |
Pass through Gateway | When selected, then the attachments in this group can be set to pass through the Gateway to other applications. |
Predefined Notes | Select to enable Predefined Notes. Predefined
Notes are snippets of text you can reuse and apply for the day (Roster
Date). Unlike Defined in Setup attachments where a user can configure
attachments for a specific date range or be infinite, predefined
notes are only applicable for one day. When mixed settings are set
in an Attachment Group, Predefined Notes overrides Defined in Setup,
Temporary and Shared checkbox behavior when using the Inline Notes
feature on the Roster (similar to Edit without Rules behavior).
The classic attachment view, however remains the same and will enforce
Defined in Setup, Shared and Temporary. Available as of application
version 6.7. For example suppose, you configured three devices under Attachment Group labeled, Devices, and selected Defined in Setup, Predefined Notes, and Shared is not checked. Via inlline notes on the roster you can add these devices any number of times for the day. Suppose you assigned device 1 to Matt and James via inline notes, then in the classic attachment view you attempt to assign device 1 to Lynn, the user interface will prevent you and you will need to either close out to leave as is or assign device 1 to either Matt or James. |
