Penalty Field Name Description
Bucket Select a logging bucket to store this penalty’s information. Captures opportunity hours, counts, dates, or offers.
Warnings: The max number of warnings allowed before a charge starts to apply. This is relevant for charges levied as a result of non-acceptance of a work opportunity. Warnings do not reset, once the number of warnings have been reached the person is considered warned and penalties are applied thereafter.
Count: This is a static count charged for this penalty and applies to organizations using opportunity count as a fairness criterion. For example, if the person refuses the work opportunity or the opportunity expires then a count charge applies to the bucket. The bucket is used by logging type rules to sort candidates. A count charge is defined by your business rules. When this field is used a count is typically set to 1 to deposit a single instance into the bucket.
Hours: This is a static amount of hours charged for this penalty regardless of how many actual working hours were offered. Leave this field blank to charge actual hours. For example, if the person refuses the work opportunity or the opportunity expires then X amount of hours are applied to the bucket. The bucket is used by logging type rules to sort candidates. Hours charged are defined by your business rules. When this field is used Hours is typically set to blank to deposit actual hours into the bucket.
Offer Count: This is a static offer count charged for this penalty. This applies to organizations using offer counts as a fairness criterion. For example, if the person is offered an opportunity regardless of whether that offer is rejected, skipped, or expired this offer count charge is applied to the bucket. The bucket is used by logging type rules to sort candidates. An offer count charge is defined by your business rules. When this field is used Offer Count is typically set to 1 to indicate a single instance.
Work Code: Used to select the work code that will be automatically assigned to the candidate by the List as a result of this penalty. Typically labeled: Penalty, Charged, or Refusal. This work code is automatically inserted into the Person’s history.
Time(s): A multiplier used with the work code selected in the previous setting. If the charge applies, then the total charge is this number multiplied by the amount of hours or counts. For example, if 2 is entered here and the offer rejected is for 24 hours of overtime, the charge is 48 (2 x 24). The candidate then sorts accordingly when business rules are applied.
