Various features and automation levels ranging from
manual to fully automated are available in the application to staff
personnel based on your business rules or preferences.
The level of automation implemented is highly dependent on your
business work flow, staffing process, desired scheduling control,
and general preferences. Generally, the application uses position
centric staffing methods. Person centric staffing is only available
in Blueprints via the job allocation tool.
A variation of the following features may be implemented to staff
personnel:
- Drag and Drop - used to quickly staff vacancies on
the Roster from the People Filter using a dragging method to fill
vacancies.
- Switch - used to schedule on-duty personnel.
- Fill By Person - used to staff vacancies utilizing both
the People Filter and the Fill By Person feature.
- Fill By Rules - using a strategic rules process, Fill
By Rules automatically produces an orderly list of candidates derived
from user defined qualifiers and minimum staffing levels. Schedulers
can control which vacancies are filled first and who they choose
to contact from the list of candidates.
- Outbound - used to automatically fill vacancies using
the phone module. Schedulers can control which vacancies are filled
first and can either staff in Fill By Rule order - OR - use Fill
By Person and override the rules to select any candidate, or have
the ability to staff using either method.
- Auto-Hire is a scheduling job tool set in the Task
Manager and used to automatically offer working opportunities
and initiates the phone module at user defined time periods. Vacancies
are staffed in Fill By Rules order where the first person
on the list is offered to work the position first and has a reserved
period for the offer as set by business rules and timing dependencies
within the configured rules. The candidate can accept, reject, or
skip the opportunity. When the offer elapses the next candidate
is called and given the opportunity and so on an so forth. Also
available for Blueprint jobs as of application 7.2 using the Auto-Hire
for Blueprint Jobs task type, same concept as auto-hire but
targets blueprint jobs. Auto-hire uses a position centric staffing method.
Note: Auto-hire
is used when business rules are consistent and predictable. Schedulers
lose staffing control and cannot intercede with the selection process
or fill order once the Auto-Hire process starts to offer
work opportunities. However, authorized staffers can make changes
to the outcome of an Auto-Hire run.
- Auto-Assign- is a scheduling job tool set in the Task
Manager and used to automatically staff vacancies and commit
employees to do the work. Jobs are scheduled during user defined
time periods. Vacancies are staffed in Fill By Rules order.
Not available for Blueprint jobs.
Note: Auto-Assign is used when
business rules are consistent and predictable. Schedulers lose staffing control
and cannot intercede with the selection process or fill order once
the Auto-Assign process starts to commit employees for work
assignments. However, authorized staffers can make changes to the
outcome of an Auto-Assign run.
- Job Allocation - is a scheduling tool used to staff Blueprint
jobs. The job allocation tool schedules people by allocating (assigning)
each person to the best fit job using a combination of rules, job
allocation filters and sorts and passes. This is person centric
staffing. Requires a Blueprint license to access.
