Constant vs. Interrupted by Special Days

Constant type shifts display on the Roster on active days. Interrupted by Special Day shifts have the option to appear on the roster or withdraw from the Roster which results in no payroll feed data for the special days given.

The standard shift type configuration is constant. Regardless of whether a payroll feed is required. Constant shifts require an exception work code, such as Holiday, to assign a nonworking paid status on special days. The Holiday work code is used to identify personnel on holiday and feeds payroll.

Interrupted by special day shift type configurations are rare and typically applied to Administrative shifts that do not impact manpower rules. The Special Days area allows you to control Roster visibility when setting Interrupted by Special Days type shifts.

Note:

If Interrupted By Special Days is selected and the Special Days area does not define a holiday as a working day, personnel withdraw from the Roster on that holiday with no work status or pay information available for the payroll export.
