Important: |
It is important to understand the entire Shifts
area and how shifts link to positions and affect the Roster before
you begin to configure shift patterns. Having too many shifts may
result in unnecessary shift merging to make the Roster view more
compact. |
The Shifts area contains:
- Shift - used to define work schedule patterns. A shift
typically defines a work schedule pattern.
- Shift Group - used to create a set of shifts and applied in
Rules, Signup Shift Group, and Calendar Shift Group.
- Shift Mask - used along with shifts when several people share
the same start and end time but the day-off patterns vary. Shift
masks create reusable day-off patterns that can be applied to base
shifts.
- Shift Times - used to define different shift times without
creating a new shift and groups personnel with nonessential shifts
that vary into the same assigned unit.
