To add or change the Shift Mask pattern:
- Go to Setup > Shifts
- Select an existing shift to edit OR click Add to
create a new shift mask.
- In Name, type a name for this shift.
- In Abbreviation, type the abbreviation for this
shift.
- Enter the shift mask information that is relevant to
your organization. To create a pattern you must start with a blank
calendar.
- To remove the previous shift pattern click Clear Pattern
- To select consecutive days, hold down the Shift key.
- To select non-consecutive days hold down the Ctrl key.
- On the blank calendar, select every working (on-duty)
day or non-working day that conflicts with the shift. Two repeating
cycles of the pattern must be entered.
- To select non-consecutive days, hold the Ctrl key while
clicking on the calendar.
- To select consecutive days, hold the Shift key
while clicking on the calendar.
- To extend the number of weeks in view, use the Weeks
(5-53)menu box and scroll forward or backward, if needed.
- Click New Pattern to display the new shift pattern.
- Click Save.
The Extra Day-On shift mask displays a frame on
the calendar. The Extra Day-Off shift mask displays a solid
square and smaller in size than the base shift. Both types will
show the base shift color.
Assign the Shift Mask in the person’s Assignment tab.
